Trainee in Sports Science

We are recruiting a Sports Science Strength and Conditioning Trainee to join the team at the Academy in Manchester.

The Trainee will contribute to the achievement of the aims and objectives of the performance department through assistance in sports science.

The role will also include assisting the sport science and medical team in the delivery of physical training, monitoring, fitness testing, rehabilitation, and recovery strategies, and in the collection, management and analysis of performance data, among other tasks.

The successful candidate must have a good understanding of techniques for developing players, movement competency, speed agility, strength and power and metabolic fitness for intermittent sprint agility sports.

They must have the ability to effectively coach young athletes in individual and large training sessions, possessing the communication skills that engage and motivate young players and parents to improve their athletic qualities.

Experience in coaching young athletes (9-16 years) in a practical setting in a range of disciplines is essential.

Finally, the successful candidate will have a BSc (or equivalent) qualification in sport science, nutrition or physical education. Non Bsc candidates with significant proven practical coaching experience will be considered.

A Level 2 coaching qualification, (or above), specialising in the physical preparation of young athletes in one or more sports is also essential.
